There are a group of people, who are lost themselves in art, sometimes decadent, sometimes enthusiastic, sometims confused, and sometimes passionate. They are continuously in search for their interior shore, defining symbols of art beside the city, and propagandizing the color of humanity. It is the people of Songzhuang who tell others what they see... ... 

Songzhuang is an ordinary town in Beijing, where there are no beautiful landscapes and cultural relics. a decade before, more and more artists began to move in that small remote town, and the number of artists is up to 300 now. they rent or buy houses in the town to live together with the villagers. they are living simple, quiet lives, and enjoying the wind, the sun and the earth...... 

It was in 1999 when I was the first time leaving jokuls and grasslands for the city, seaching for the "tribe" of artist. But to my surprising and disappointment, I didn't meet any artist when I jump inside the Yuanmingyuan's wall because of no money......
